Saint John of God (Spanish: San Juan de Dios; Portuguese: São João de Deus) (March 8, 1495 – March 8, 1550) was a Portuguese-born friar andsaint, who has become one of Spain's leading religious figures.

St. John of God was born João Cidade in Montemor-o-Novo, Portugal, into a once prominent family that was impoverished but had great religious faith. His mother died when he was only a small child, and his father joined a monastic order.

As a young man, St. John worked as a shepherd for a farmer, who was very pleased with his strength and diligent work. John had an offer to marry the farmer's daughter and become heir to the property; he refused because he wanted to pursue a spiritual life in the name of the Lord.

He moved to Spain, where he served as a heroic soldier under the Holy Roman Emperor Charles V and fought in a few battles. After many heroic exploits, he worked disseminating religious books, using the recent Gutenberg moveable-type printing press to provide people with the word of the Lord.

He experienced a major spiritual conversion on Saint Sebastian's day (January 20), while listening to a sermon by Saint John of Ávila, the man who was later to become his spiritual mentor and would encourage him in his quest to improve the life of the poor. He then went temporarily into what appeared to be a state of madness brought on by the Lord and was subsequently thrown into an insane asylum, where he recovered after a visit from Blessed John of Ávila and realized that the poor and needy deserved better treatment than he had received. He decided to devote the rest of his life to caring for the sick and the poor.

Settling in Granada, Spain, he expended all his energy to caring for the neediest people of the city. Slowly he drew to himself a dedicated circle of disciples, who felt called to join him in this service. St. John organized his followers into the Order of Hospitallers, now better known as the Brothers Hospitallers of St. John of God, who care for the sick in countries around the world. One mark of honor to his labors is that this order has been officially entrusted with the medical and dental care of the Pope.

He died on March 8, 1550, his 55th birthday. He was canonized by Pope Alexander VIII on 16th, October 1690, and later named the patron saint of hospitals, the sick, nurses, firefighters, alcoholics, and booksellers. St. John's feast day is commemorated on March 8.

The order have a base in Celbridge, County Kildare, Ireland, helping people with disabilities in the area.

St John of God is the patron of the mentally and physically ill. He also assists those who are writers and who have heart problems.

John of God was many things in his long life: a shepherd, a soldier and mercenary, a book seller, a servant, and a hospital administrator. Everything he did seemed a little crazy. He ran away from home when he was very young, he ran away from being a shepherd to join the army, he reformed his life overnight after he fell off his horse, he decided to help an exiled family by being their servant the first day he met them, he started a hospital to take care of all the sick and poor in the city.

His motto was: "Labor without stopping. Do all the good works you can while you still have the time." Because he could make up his mind so quickly to do the right thing and follow God, John of God can help us when we need to do the right thing, especially when we need to decide quickly. Whether it's to smile at the kid in class who was mean yesterday, or to let your little sister have the first pick of cookies, John of God will always help us when we ask. He'll jump to help us!

John teaches that everything is possible and even in the crazy moments we can still serve our highest purpose. Follow your heart and in doing so everything becomes a part of service and assistance. This month he reminds you, life does not have to be conventional. We do not have to confirm to the worlds perception of what is right for us. Be honest in all your dealings but stay true to your souls purpose. It sometimes may involve taking risks but life would be boring without them.

Archangel For October 2010 Raziel

The name Raziel translated from Hebrew into English means Secret of God, or Secrets of God and is an archangel within the teachings of Jewish mysticism, of the Kabbalah of Judaism, who is the "Keeper of Secrets" and the "Angel of Mysteries." In some teachings he is claimed to be a Cherub, as well as the chief of the Ophanim and is described as having blue wings, a glowing yellow aura around his head and wearing a grey robe which appears to have liquid-like properties. He is very kind, loving, intelligent and fair. His presence subtle but once you invoke him he will be with you immediately and show you his sign of his presence. To Speak Or Not To Speak

Having left school at 15 years of age to pursue my love of horses, I been Indigo not thinking on the long term, didnt allow myself the opportunity to experience life in college. Proberly because I never thought I was smart enough. I had low self esteem like a lot of teenagers and horses for me was a way of avoiding what I really wanted to do. Although back then I didnt know what I wanted to do. But I always knew it would be something that impacted on many in someway.

Where am I going with this? Well without dwelling on the past and staying true to what I believe in now, ie everything happens for a reason, I plow on with my tale.

I began thinking of returning to college a number of months back. I had been looking into getting a Masters in Psychology and the main colleges that attracted me where in Derry or NUI Galway. I felt excited by it as I did my research. Galway would mean another move...hmmm did I really want to. But I had other things to do first before I could get there or even qualify. So its still a working project and certainly not ruled out.

However random as my thoughts oftern are,I have been trying to psyche myself up to get back to platform Mediumship work. But I have a phobia of public speaking that has plagued me for a few years. One of the main reasons why I choose to work on line actually. Not such a hot reason really, but the convience suits me at this stage of my life.I am sure when the time is right it will shift. Of course the main reason I choose to work on line is to be with my children. The little ones Angelina who is only 5 and my wee Jonah who is nearly 4 still love to have there mammy close by and I enjoy been here for them. However it would be lovely to now and again get of and do a show or travel a wee bit. So with my thoughts been centered on how I could lift my fear and a constant request from my beloved guides to just get up and get on with it, one day about three weeks back, I threw it out there, after several rounds of EFT Tapping and a shift in my energy I declared loudly and boldly to The Universe, I AM READY, BRING IT ON!

Oh gosh but did they bring it on....later that day I received an email from the literary and debating site in where else but NUI Galway.

Well how they found me I have no clue but know full well my team of Angels real where pushing all the stops out. I was invited to attend a debating topic on the 28th of October on The Other Side. Oh gosh I thought and smiled as I accepted their kind offer. Here am I been invited to a fairly large event where I would have to get up in front of quite a number of lets say well established professionals and talk about one of the most highly debated topics on the planet. OMG.

I chuckled to myself, thanked my Angels for the opportunity and let it go. It is what is, I reasoned with myself and hope to heavens that reasoning stands for me on the evening. I got part of my dream fulfilled though, I get to return to college for one night only and sit among some of the finest minds in Ireland and England and lead the topic of discussion as they openly share their skepticism with us.

I am so looking forward to it which is strangely odd for me so I guess I am feeling more ready then I thought I would be. Its barely a week away now and I sure hope heaven pulls out all the stops in making sure my beliefs in the afterlife are well received. The show must go on and to speak or not speak,

well I shall wait to hear what heaven has to say about it.

Archangel Jophiel

Jophiel is said in Jewish lore to be a companion to the Angel Metatron (a Prince of Divine Presence), and is one of the chiefs of the choir of Cherubim.
If he is a Cherub or a Throne then he is also a "prince of heaven" found in Jewish law and is a caretaker of the seven heavens and the angelic choirs.

Jophiel and Zadkiel both assist Michael in battle. He may also be "the angel prince of the Torah who is credited with having taught Moses the cabalistic mystery. In Aramaic incantations he is considered to be a great archangel." He is included as an Archangel in several listings including that of the early medieval theologian pseudo-Dionysus.

In Christian lore Jophiel is not named in the scriptures but some sources believe it was he who drove Adam and Eve from the Garden of Eden, which would make him the first Angel to appear in the Bible. If this is the case he would also be the Angel guarding the Tree of Life with a flaming sword to prevent humanity's return.

Angels of Love and Light describes him as "He is the Archangel of Paradise and the Patron of Artists and Illumination. He teaches the outer consciousness the Power of Light within oneself. He is also described as the Yellow Ray of Wisdom, Illumination, and Constancy." and lists his Archeia as Christine. It also says “He Stirs feelings through Radiation of Illumination and into aspiration for spiritual things. He helps in absorbing information, studying for and passing tests, dissolution of ignorance, pride, and narrow-mindedness, and exposure of wrongdoing in governments and corporations. Jophiel helps in fighting pollution, cleaning up our planet and brings to mankind the gift of Beauty. He also provides inspiration for artistic and intellectual thought providing help with artistic projects and to see the beautiful things around us.
